In your fights with your friends and family, do you find yourself hitting below the belt or otherwise not fighting fairly?
Maybe your feelings are hurt and you intentionally inflict pain on them so you feel better…
Or maybe you are careless with your words, forgetting the real damage that words can do. Or maybe your filter has not been serviced in awhile and you have neglected that and are hurting people without intending.
Maybe you think life is unfair and therefore, you are, too.
Maybe you think that having a conversation has a different set of guidelines than having a fight and you talk about the guidelines so that each party can have buy in.
Talk about your argument style, your conflict style early on and keep trying to improve. Good people are getting needlessly hurt by not having the conversation about the conversation.
