Living a simple life and consuming less are the true conditions for happiness.
Can we be satisfied with the basic conditions of life and know when we have had enough and stop?
We live a simple lifestyle to be happy.
The “practice of living simply” has many advantages -when you are no longer running after possessions, you need less money and can afford to work less. You have more time to do things that are meaningful and enjoyable.
What is enough?
If you know what is enough, then you’ll have enough. If you wait until you have enough, you will never have enough. (Confucian saying)
“The word “civilized” is the opposite of violent, signifying beauty, gentleness, and peace. A civilized society and culture are the fruits of our practice harmony and compassion are their hallmarks. Do we cultivate freedom, responsibility, understanding and therefore reap the fruits?”
Reflect on what needs to change and consider implementing it. Consider looking at this daily for a full week and ask yourself what changes you are willing to make to eliminate the roots of violence in yourself.
