Non-concordance is when a person’s physiological response does not predict the person’s subjective experience.
People vary tremendously -same parts, organized in different ways.
You cannot predict from an individual’s genital response to a sex -related stimulus whether they want, or like, that sex-related stimulus.
Bodies do not say “yes” or “no.”
Bodies say, “this is sex related” or “this is not sex related.”
Some things that are related to sex are neither wanted nor liked.
And sometimes our genitals do not respond when the rest of us is ready to go. Sometimes our genitals respond and we do not want, like or desire what is being offered or what is happening. The false belief that our “genitals don’t lie” can have serious repercussions.
